Recent Updates

• Look at the minutes and agenda for CFI meeting #16.
• Read the latest installments of Second Floor Scoop and Innovations in Instruction. We focused this week is on how our guest speakers' exciting presentations during the faculty conference reminded us of the importance of setting SMART Goals.
• Almost all programs have been annualized, so unless you had previously asked for a program change, your schedule this semester should be the same as the previous one.  A few changes at the end of the semester did necessitate a small number of schedule updates, however.  If you have questions regarding a change in a math class, speak with Ms. Helfgott in Room 527.  If you have any other programming concern, see Ms. van Keulen in Room 261. You may review more details in the programming letter that was distributed on February 2.

• Review the minutes from our CFI meeting on 1-28-10.
• Any teacher who is interested in enrolling in a free teacher workshop on the Auto Desk software and its applications in the classroom should contact Ms. van Keulen. Space is limited!
• The CFI Team's presentation involved a total of thirteen presenters, four PowerPoint presentations, student dramatic performance, and handouts. The focus was on articulating one's SMART Goal. Do not hesitate to review the PowerPoint files for guidance!
• Teachers of Environmental Science or perhaps other classes may like to use Mr. Singh's PowerPoint presentation that he shared with us during the Faculty Conference. Science teachers may also find the climate change video to be a useful teaching tool.
• Individual teachers can submit proposals for an Edelman Grant requesting equipment ranging in cost from $100 to $4000.

Educators, parents, and some students may also be interested to review recent comments by Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in Innovations in Instruction.
